: (1) Notwithstanding anything written elsewhere in this constitution, a citizen of Nepal who has obtained a permanent residence permit from abroad shall not be eligible for election, nomination or appointment to a position to be elected, nominated or appointed in accordance with this constitution. However, there will be no hindrance to elect, nominate or be appointed to such a position after a period of at least three months has elapsed for a person who has abandoned such foreign permanent residence permit.
(2) Other provisions related to citizens of Nepal who have obtained a permanent residence permit from abroad as per sub-section (1) shall be in accordance with the federal law.
